Subject: Odd Translation Question (Scots)
Hello all,
A very odd question was recently posed to me regarding a “folk song” (known
as more of a protest song though I think) and I’m wondering if anyone might
be able to help…
The song in question is Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A Changing” – does
there exist a Scots version of the song?
I am aware that the tune itself was “borrowed” from a Scots folk song
(actually I think a piping song “Farewell to Sicily” I think is one of the
titles it’s known by), but I’m not talking about the tune origin here – I
mean a Scots version of the English lyrics (“Come gather ‘round people…….).
If such a version does exist, is it possible to get those lyrics posted??
Thanks very much,
Mike Szelog
