Ah, The Bruce and all that. He was a Norman, as were the Comyns, Balliols
and all leading the Scottish aristocracy, including in all probability
William Wallace. And their arch-enemy Edward Plantagenet couldn't even
speak English, and a lot of his henchies couldn't much either.
The Anglo-Scottish wars of the late13th/early 14th Centuries were just a
bunch of over-priveleged Frenchmen beating each other up, while assorted
Lowlanders on both sides carried the bags and did the dirty work.
