Subject: Events

Dear Lowlanders,

Hanne and Marlou did the kickoff in German, and now it's my turn to salute
all our female Lowlanders on International Women's Day today.

Here in the States it tends to be treated as a marginal event in the main
media. The only place in which I saw the day celebrated in great style and
involving a large section of the population was China in the early 1980s.

I wonder if and how you celebrate it where you are.
