Hello Diederik,
Thanks for your comment and questions in connection with the name for dates
in Tiens. I have never heard any singular form for this word. You're
absolutely right when you state that the demonstrative neutral is 'dees'. On
the other hand there is no such word as 'dat' in Tiens (it is simply 'da').
So it is quite obvious that the forms ditten and datten are borrowed from
classroom Dutch. That's why the combination has such a funny sound to local
speakers.
