Es gibt im Niederdeutschen noch ein weiteres Wort Wad'.

*Wad' *f. großes Zugnetz der Fischer, Wate, die sowohl am Ostseestrand als
auch in Binnengewässern eingesetzt wird.

Falls nähere Erläuterungen erbeten werden, könnte ich mehr darüber schreiben
