Subject: LL-L Reference Literature



I think every language has its reference literature, I mean texts one learns
in one of the first lessons in the foreign language.

For my German I remember the text below was one of the first German texts we
analysed gramatically in our Limburgish school..

I just found it back on the web. It follows below.

Es lag schon lang ein Toter vor unserm Drahtverhau,
die Sonne auf ihn glühte, ihn kühlte Wind und Tau.

Ich sah ihm alle Tage in sein Gesicht hinein,
