He (or his student(s), if we are talking about the Cyrillic and not the
Glagolitic alpahbet)  also apparently borrowed from some combination of:
Hebrew, Coptic, Samaritan, and/or Armenian. A VERY well-read man by all
accounts! ... which,in those days and times and in that part of the world
was a VERY rare thing.
