Beste allen,



Beste Roger: weinig huig-r bij ons, maar het zit wel in enkele (weinige)
families (zelfs uit de visserijmiddens).



In het Oostends - en in alle West-Vlaams - is de R niet te horen als die
voor een S komt:

beurs: beuze;

borst: bost;

borstel: bustel;

dorst:dust;

eerste: aiste;

kaars: kêse;

korst: kaste;

laars: lêze;

verse: vasjhe;

worst: woste; enz.



maar:

stieren: stiers;

Noors: Noors, Nors.

buren: beurs.



We zitten inderdaad niet zo ver van Engeland...



En terloops: in het Oostends is de L is niet te horen tussen E, OA en G,K



elk: êk;

melk: mêk;

lelijk: laik;

welk: wêke;

balg: boag;

balk: boake (mar ook: bolke);

twaalf: twoave;

volk: voak;

valk is wel altijd: volke...; kalf is altijd: kolf...



Vergelijk nu eens êk (elk) met Engels each; wêke met which; voak met Engels
folk...



En Roger, nomaals veel geluk met jouw boek...
