This little report about a soccer competition in Bautzen gives an idea
about which minorities have sufficient identity for forming teams for an
international event:

Duitssprekende Zuid-Tirolers winnen EK voor minderheden

*Op de winnaar van Euro 2012 is het nog een week wachten, maar een deel van
Italië mag nu al vieren. Vandaag won *
*Duitssprekend Zuid-Tirol *
*immers Europeada, het EK voor minderheden. In de finale in het Saksische
Bautzen namen de Duitstalige Zuid-Tirolers met 3-1 de maat van de *
*Hongaarse Roma.*

In de wedstrijd om het brons won de
*Kroatische minderheid in Servië*
met 1-0 van de
*Slovenen uit Karinthië (Oos*).
De *Lausitzer Sorben (Dui)* waren gastheer voor het toernooi. Zij werden in
de kwartfinales uitgeschakeld door de Roma.

De *Duitse minderheid in Polen*,
de *verenigde minderheden uit Estland*,
de *Duitstalige Russen*,
de *Slovaakse minderheid uit Hongarije*,
de *Retoromanen (Zwi),*
de *Ladiniërs (Ita),*
de *Noord-Friesen (Dui),*
de *Turken uit West-Thracië (Gri),*
de *Karatschaj (Rus),*
de *Duitstalige Hongaren*,
de *Occitaniërs (Fra),*
de *Deense minderheid in Duitsland*,
de *Zimbern (Ita)* en
de *Welshmen (GBr)* waren de andere deelnemers.

*Duitstalig Zuid-Tirol* was titelverdediger. Vier jaar geleden won het in
het
*Zwitserse Surselva*
de eerste editie van Europeada door de
*Kroaten uit Servië* met 1-0 te verslaan.
