De ragebol wordt bij ons in West-Vlaanderen e kobbejager genoemd (a
"spiderhunter)".
Een handborstel (a broomhand brush) is bij ons en hambustel (d.i.
handbustel) of e zwientsje (borstel = bustel; varken, zwijn = zwien).

Regarding (1), I think it is an indication of the depth of permeation of
Scandinavians into Anglo Saxon life, especially in the North.  There is no
evidence the Danes or Norse introduced cakes or baking, but such basic
words still came into the language.  Even such an all-encompassing word as
"sky" is used - "loft" has contracted to a very limited overhead space!
