Hello Lowlanders,

 Today is a great day in the Netherlands. The Qween has abdicated and a new
King
is installed.
 So many people in the Netherlands wear orange,  not only for football,
 but as a color for the house of Orange that reigned the Netherlands
 for six generations, and now the seventh generation, King Willem
Alexander and his wife Maxima, are the next.
 God bless the King.

En felicitaties aan al mijn Nederlandse vrienden!

Eerlijk gezegd ben ik geen echte monarchist (ondanks het feit dat ik
als Australisch
staatsburger zelf een koningin heb). Maar ik hou van onze Nederlandse
verwanten, en daarom respecteer ik hun voorkeuren. Bovendien vind ik
al de leden
van de koninklijke familie van Nederland zeer sympathiek en waardig van
verering.

Ja, het was een grote, belangrijke dag voor het Nederlandse volk, voor onze
Nederlandse vrienden, en dus ook voor ons.

Zelfs hier op de Noord-Amerikaanse westkust heb ik een groot deel van de live
Nederlandse televisie-producties gezien, en mijn hart ging uit naar de
juichende
menigten.

Lang leve Koningin Beatrix, lang leve Koning Willem en zijn familie, en
lang leve het Nederlandse volk!
