    Von binnen warmen wi de Sääl,
    un krägel jucht' all ut de Kähl:
    "Hellau, Allaf, nu is't so wied,"
    rin in de föfte Johrestied.

    Martinigaus hett sick ranfräten,
    denn ward sei ok Martini äten.
    Wecker nich äten un supen kann,
    de ist noch lang' kein Martensmann.
    Vergnäugt sick so de Minschen mäten,
    furts is de Näwelmaand vergäten.
