Subject: LL-L Resources - Limburgish - Tone
We have discussed the topic of Limburgish tonality before.
I just found this interesting clip:

commented in English.
Be aware there is variation from village to village.
Enjoy,
Regards,
Roger

Thanks a lot, Roger. That's a well-presented video. My only criticism is
that it ignores Low Saxon ("Low German"), especially since many Low Saxon
dialects also have a *Sleeptoon*. This "tone" manifests itself before
certain consonants as "super-length" before the deleted word-final syllable
*-e*. For example, ...
*Bruud *[bruːt] 'bride' (German *Braut*)
*Brüd'* [bryːˑ(d)] 'brides' (German *Br**ä**ute*)
*Vas'* [vɒːˑz] 'vase' (German *Vase*)
*Ros'* [roˑʊz] 'rose' (German *Rose*)
*Deef *(< *Deev*) [dɛɪf] 'thief' (German *Dieb*)
*Dev'* [dɛˑɪv] 'thieves' (German *Diebe*)
