Dear All,
It will be wonderful to get together for lunch or dinner with all those who can make it to SEALS in May!
It might be good to have a short meeting somewhere at the conference venue before going out to dinner - that way we will be able to chat in a quiet place about Martha and Yoshihisa's great idea of a themed workshop at a future conference. I'd also like to talk about the possibility of putting together a special issue - perhaps of JSEALS, but good to think about other ideas too - and about whether that kind of thing is best related to a particular theme or left more open.
Let's make sure to take notes on all our brilliant ideas, so that we can share them on the list with those who can't make it, and continue the discussion on line.
Cheers!
Nerida

Hi Martha and Yoshihisa,
That would be wonderful! I will be in Chiang Mai from May 22 - 31.
Also, just to let you know, quite a few SEALS 25 attendees will also
be going to HLS 21, which will be held at Tribhuvan University in
Kathmandu, Nepal from June 2-3 (just after SEALS 25 -
http://www.himalayansymposium.org/kathmandu-2015-announcement), I will
leave Chiang Mai on May 31.
Best,
Andrew

A pre-conference workshop at the Sino-Tibetan meeting makes more sense, since whether or not HM/MY is part of ST is an open question: we are more peripheral there. Maybe we can discuss the possibility of organizing a workshop at a future SEALS meeting on a focused topic, like HM discourse, HM & language contact, or the like. What do you think?
