We invite abstracts for 20 minute talks on any aspect of the linguistic,

languages of Oaxaca. While all topics are welcome, we particularly encourage
papers that compare contemporary and colonial language materials and show how
the analysis of one can be relevant to the other.

Submission of abstracts may be either via e-mail (preferred) or regular mail.

Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words and should contain a clear
statement of the problem, the language(s) to be examined, and the theoretical
approach employed. Include the author’s name, affiliation, mailing address,
e-mail address, and telephone number. E-mail submissions may be sent to g.bro
adwell at albany.edu. Submissions via regular mail should be sent to George
Broadwell, Dept. of Anthropology, University at Albany, State University of
New York. All abstracts should be received by MARCH 25, 2000.
