All the examples that you quote like Acatitla or Tlaxcala are all
translations in the Spanish language.

Originally in Nahuatl it was and still is: Acatitlan or Tlaxcallan.

If Chimalpahin quote all these places without a -n, even in Nahuatl texts,
than probably he did like all the other Spanish friars.

Tla is an indefinite prefix (something), or an indicator of the optative
(1st and 3rd person).
