Meeting Description:
The 4th Workshop on Nominalizations (JeNom4: Journées d'études sur
les
Nominalisations)
Location: University of Stuttgart, Germany
Conference date: June 16-17, 2011
Submission deadline: January 31, 2011
Notification of acceptance: April 15, 2011
This workshop aims at bringing together researchers who are
concerned
with the argument structure and the temporal/aspectual properties
of noun
phrases and other nominal constituents in various languages and
frameworks. It continues a tradition initiated in France which
explains its
French acronym: JeNom. JeNom1 was organized at the University of
Nancy, JeNom2 at the University of Lille 3, and JeNom3 at the
University of
Paris 8. These previous editions concentrated on the study of
nominalizations, but in JeNom4 we would like to open the
discussion to
broader questions related to the expression of verbal properties
inside the
nominal domain. Within the frame of a DAAD-Aurora mobility project
between University of Stuttgart, University of Paris 8 and
University of Lille
3, this year the workshop will be organized by the project B1 'The
structure
and interpretation of derived nominals' within the SFB 732
'Incremental
specification in context' at the University of Stuttgart.
Call For Papers
We invite submissions on any aspect of the study of these problems
(morphology, syntax, semantics, and/or interfaces) in various
languages
and theoretical frameworks. We particularly encourage work that
addresses
argument structure in nominalizations, as well as the properties
of
nominalizations derived from stative verbs and/or adjectives.
Each talk will receive 30 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes
for
discussion. Abstracts should not exceed 2 pages in length (A4 or
letter-
size), in 12 pt. font, with 1-inch/2,5-cm margins, including
examples and
references. The language of the submissions and the presentations
will be
English. Please submit your abstract here:
