*Workshop:*/Phonologie cognitive et computationnelle/

*Description:*
Le workshop traitera des questions que pose la *Phonologie cognitive et 
computationnelle *à l'interface entre linguistique, psycholinguistique 
et apprentissage automatique, Ce champ vise à proposer des modèles 
*cognitivement plausibles* de l'acquisition de la phonologie (ainsi que 
de la production et de la perception), plus que des solutions efficaces 
d'un point de vue strictement computationnel. Mais les généralisations 
linguistiques et les données psycholinguistiques sont mises à l'épreuve 
d'une *modélisation computationnelle* sur la base du postulat selon 
lequel les stratégies d'apprentissage sélectionnées par les humains et à 
l'oeuvre dans l'acquisition des langues naturelles l'ont été car elles 
étaient  les plus cognitivement pertinentes. A l'heure actuelle, les 
généralisations linguistiques proposées par *l**es** théories 
phonologiques* sont celles qui semblent pouvoir être plus aisément 
abordées par les outils de l'apprentissage automatique.**Ce workshop 
vise à intégrer les apports de la théorie phonologique, des analyses et 
données de psycholinguistique de l'enfant et des algorithmes 
d'apprentissage en réunissant des chercheurs spécialistes d'un des ces 
trois domaines.

/Cognitive Computational Phonology/

*Description:
*Various recent threads of research within Linguistics are giving shape 
to the field of Cognitive Computational Phonology, at the intersection of
Linguistics, Psycholinguistics ans Machine Learning


/Cognitive/: 	it aims at cognitively plausible models of language 
acquisition (as well as production and perception), rather than at 
efficient solutions for practical language-related applications, as it 
is the case for Computational Linguistics
/Computational/: 	it supplements linguistic generalizations and 
psycholinguistic data with a computational modeling perspective, as the 
actual learning strategies adopted by humans are likely to have been 
selected because of their computational optimality
/Phonology/: 	it focuses on the case of phonology, as the linguistic 
structure uncovered by phonologists seems more readily amenable to the 
tools of Machine Learning than it is the case for syntax or semantics

This one-day workshop contributes to the integrated approach of 
Cognitive Computational Phonology, by bringing together various 
researchers working on the child acquisition of phonotactics and 
phonology from one of the three perspectives of phonological theory, 
child psycholinguistic data and learning algorithms.
