**Case Inflection in Koalib: Discovering the Rules**

*Abstract*
Koalib is an African language, part of the Niger-Congo family, Kordofanian
branch, with around 100,000 speakers located in the Nuba Mountains, Sudan.
It is a tonal language with vowel harmony and two grammatical cases -
subject and object case. The goal of this study is to discover the rules
that determine how subject forms change when inflected for object case.
This is accomplished using supervised machine learning methods and a corpus
of about 1,200 Koalib nouns as training data.*
