Oui, il y a lieu de s’étonner d’autant que légalement tous les textes
officiels publiés sur le territoire français doivent être(aussi)  en
français : lire le fichier joint de l’Académie. On peut donc conclure de
cette annonce que soit l’annonceur considère qu’il va de soi que tous les
lecteurs sont anglophones, soit que ceux qui ne sont pas familiers de
l’anglais sont hors circuit, à moins que l’utilisation de l’anglais signifie
que la chose scientifique ne soit vraiment sérieuse qu’en anglais ? Madame
Fioraso serait évidemment d’accord 
 Ne devrions-nous pas redéfinir ce que
doivent être nos élites ?

The Department of Cognitive Science of Ecole Normale Supérieure in
Paris (http://www.ens.fr/?lang=en) will hire a visiting Assistant
Professor in formal and theoretical linguistics for the 2014-2015
academic year (starting date between September 1st, 2014 and October

While we welcome applications from all subfields of formal and
theoretical linguistics, we will preferably hire someone with
sufficient background in theoretical syntax to teach syntax at least
at an intermediate level. Furthermore, knowledge of French, though not
a prerequisite, is preferable.

The successful applicant must have obtained his/her PhD diploma before
the position starts.

Teaching load: the visiting Assistant Professor will teach 2 classes
per semester (about 4-5hrs/week), or any equivalent combination, and
will also be involved in student advising.

Research environment: the Department includes several active research
groups in linguistics and neighboring areas (formal semantics,
phonology, psycholinguistics, philosophy of language) -- see

Salary: The visiting assistant professor will receive a net salary
ranging from 2000 euros/months to 2500 euros/month, depending on past
experience.

skills (e.g., course evaluations)
