Directional vs. omni directional microphones

Hi Rachel,
some recorders have 2 channels, so the interviewer and interviewee can 
both have their own microphone. The Marantz compact flash recorder PCM 
660 has this. If it's important for both to be recorded clearly, this 
would be your best option. Or, you could use a splitter and have two 
mics going into a single channel.
