Dear all,
Recently we received a number of DV tapes that had many errors on
them and could not be captured properly. It turned out that all of
them were 80 minute DV tapes, which contain a slightly thinner tape
and are therefore more prone to errors. We recommend you not to use
these 80 minute tapes but stick to the 60 minute ones.
As most of you already know we also recommend strongly against using
the long play mode on DV cameras, because similar problems can occur.
The width of the tracks that are written on the tape is reduced in
long play mode. Errors on the tape will have more serious
consequences and the reduced track width may cause the tape not to
play back properly on a different camera or player.
Best regards,
Paul
