extracting audio files from an iPod

Hi Bill,

Amarok is a KDE-native application but will work in Gnome.  Over Rhythmbox
and gtkpod, Amarok is preferred because a) it's a better music
player/organiser and b) it won't make you initialise the ipod.  More than
any other KDE programme, Amarok generates the most envy for Gnome users!

TO get it:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install amarok

In case you need to perform a manual mount (if it has previously been
initialised in OSX it'll mount fine though):
Take not of the device name:
sudo fdisk -l            (it'll be something like sdb1)

Create a mount point for it :
sudo mkdir  /media/ipodname

Mount the iPod:
sudo mount  /dev/sdb1 /media/ipodname
