(Two positions, fixed-term for two years)
Applicants can be from any discipline and will be placed in the relevant
academic department. The appointee will have a strong interest in teaching
as well as research and will be expected to develop teaching resources from
their research applicable to their academic department, work with colleagues
on new research, and support M?ori and Pacific student achievement
initiatives.
Te Wheke a Toi M?ori and Pacific Fellowship Programme will enable new M?ori
and/or Pacific scholars who have recently completed their doctoral studies
to develop their academic skills at the University of Waikato. The programme
will enable new scholars to extend their research into new areas, apply
their research to a range of academic teaching contexts and to advance their
professional skills in supervision and graduate mentoring.
The appointee will develop their skills under the guidance of senior
academic mentors and will participate in a multi-institutional training
programme that will be delivered through three one week residencies each
year. The programme will assist the appointee to develop innovative
supervision and mentoring skills that will prepare them for future academic
careers.
A PhD with a background and evidence of high quality research is essential
for the position.
The successful appointee will be a team player, dedicated and committed with
good interpersonal skills and high self motivation.
Salary will be in the range of $62,700 to $76,552 per year.
