Jobs in the new AIATSIS Language Unit

AIATSIS is seeking to fill a number of expected vacancies in its Language Unit. The successful applicants will contribute to a new three-year research and service delivery program for Australia’s Indigenous languages community. The AIATSIS Language Unit seeks to be a national program for research and resources on Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, operating in a nexus between Indigenous language communities, researchers, FATSIL and regional language centres, registered training organisations, State and Federal Governments and the wider Australian public.
 
In this advertising round, four positions will be filled. We are seeking to appoint one of each of the following:

*Language Access Research Fellow, (EL1, $81,680 - $88,207, Non-ongoing, Full Time)
*Language Programs Research Fellow, (EL1, $81,680 - $88,207 Non-ongoing, Full Time)
*Research Assistant, Language Unit, (APS4, $52,963 - $57,507, Non-ongoing, Part Time)
*Communication and Administrative Support Officer, (APS3, $47,521 - $51,289, Non-ongoing, Part Time)
 
We are looking for a multidisciplinary team that is capable of working together productively and enthusiastically. An ideal applicant for these vacancies would have a good balance between qualifications and work experience relevant to the position. Successful candidates will be offered a contract until 30 June 2013. Salary ranges are detailed in the position descriptions. Australian Public Service Superannuation and leave entitlements apply. Positions are based in Canberra. Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islanders are encouraged to apply.
