Subject: Release of ELAN 4.1.2

Dear all,

This is to announce a bug fix release of ELAN, version 4.1.2.

The two main problems that we have tried to solve are:
- creating a new annotation or modifying the time alignment of an
existing annotation with the "snap annotations" option enabled, would
sometimes result in incorrect alignment of the new annotation whereby
existing annotations could be modified without undo possibility
- on Mac OS X, when exiting the program via Command+Q (i.e. via the
"Quit ELAN 4.1.x" menu) the application would quit even when the user
canceled the operation in the "unsaved data" window

Apart from that some glitches in the Transcription mode have been
repaired, display of the waveform at higher zoom levels is now more
accurate, several import and export functions have been improved, some
statistics functions have been updated and user preferences are
applied more consistently.

There are also some new features:
- in the Transcription mode it is now possible to hide groups of tiers
and to make individual tiers non-editable
- export of html with an embedded media player and links from text
blocks to play the corresponding fragments (requires html 5 support)
- re-use of the tier order of the timeline viewer in most export
functions, customized tier orders are stored as preferences

For Mac OS X there is now only the zipped (unpack-and-run) version available.

Finally, we are pleased that this version of ELAN includes a
translation into Simplified Chinese! Thanks to all translators!
