I just discovered Anki - a free flashcard program that has a large
community of users and lots of free source material in many languages.
It lets you include media with the words so has lots of possibilities
for exporting from Elan or Transcriber.

It also has an app for ipod that costs less than $20 and takes the
same flashcards as the laptop
