The first call for papers and workshops for ALS 2013 at University College,
University of Melbourne has been announced. See below for details

*First Call for Papers*
We are delighted to announce that the 44th meeting of the Australian
Linguistics Society will take place at University College, the University
of Melbourne from the evening of Tuesday 1st-Friday 4th October 2013.
This is a first call for abstract submissions for papers and posters.
Submissions are invited in any area of linguistics as well as for the
specialist workshops which will be announced early March.

Submitting an abstract
Authors should submit a one page abstract (references, figures, examples on
a second page) in PDF format through EasyChair. Follow the link:

on how to use Easychair.
A further call for papers will be distributed in the New Year.
Key dates:
Abstract submissions due: 1 June 2013?
Notification of Acceptance of papers: 15 July 2013?
Early bird registration ends: 15 August 2013

*Workshop proposals*
Proposal deadline for Workshops: March 1st 2013
The Program Committee of ALS2013 is accepting proposals for workshops at
the annual meeting of the Australian Linguistic Society, October 2-4 2013.
Guidelines are also available at the website:
<http://als2013.arts.unimelb.edu.au/>
We cannot guarantee that all workshop proposals will be successful. In your
proposal, please provide the following information (by March 1st 2013) to
enable us to make programming decisions.
1. Whether the workshop should be full-day or half-day
2. An overview (200 words or so) of the theme
3. We strongly prefer you to nominate confirmed potential speakers and
topics
4. A named coordinator or contact person to liaise with the Program
Committee
Papers for workshops will be peer reviewed, using the same abstract
submission process as those for the general session (but will be noted as
workshop papers). Authors submitting abstracts to the ALS will be able to
submit papers for inclusion in a workshop as part of the abstract
submission process.
Proposals should be submitted via email to als2013 at unimelb.edu.au.
