Hi Jasmin,

Another application that I came across recently is Sourcefabric's
Booktype.  It's an open source platform and free also, just as iBooks
is.

http://www.sourcefabric.org/en/booktype/

I have not yet tried it myself.  So, I can neither recommend nor
discourage using it.  But if you are an open source fan, it is an
option for you.
