Hi Amanda,

ELAR includes an excel sheet template for their metadata recommendations.
While excel is not ideal, it is a very widespread format and allows you to
very flexibly add and remove fields and data as needed.

As far as I know, the current standard for metadata us OLAC:

http://www.language-archives.org/OLAC/metadata.html


They are, however, based on the Dublin core metadata set.
