Dear all,

The 50 Words Project<https://arts.unimelb.edu.au/research-unit-for-indigenous-language/research/current-research-projects/50-words-project> aims to provide fifty words in every Indigenous language of Australia. The words are provided online with community permission, and with audio provided by a language speaker. The languages and words are displayed on an interactive map of Australia you can explore here: https://50words.online/. The map and associated materials are already being used as resources for schools and educational organisations to learn 50 words in their local language, and for the general public to discover and appreciate the diversity of First Nations’ languages around Australia.

We are calling for new language submissions! If you or someone you know of is in a position to make some recordings at the moment, please contact us (RUIL-contact @ unimelb.edu.au) and we’ll support you through the process of getting your language up on the 50 Words map.

You can find instructions for contributing here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1y3Zf5K5A_d1bO23OT2RRMCVPB4c8DYJ_DFOMGr9SKaI/edit>.

We looking forward to hearing from you!

Best wishes,

The 50 Words Project team
