Hello speech crafts

I was wondering, has anyone working in communities in language reawakening
had issues with Tindale's spelling of language names ??? E.g has his
spelling effected the way community now pronounce it or has it created
confusion ?.

There is a situation in Victoria around the choice of 'j', which is /y/,
but it is pronounced as a voiced postalveolar affricate. However, luckily
in this language and neighbouring related ones, historical evidence and
linguistic analysis suggests that there is variation between palatal glides
and stops. So this misinterpretation of Tindales spelling can slide.

An explanation of Tindale has been made to the community. However, for
some, Tindale's spelling of this word has a deep association with an
specific elder. Therefore, it has become a exception for that specific
family. Does anyone have similar issues like this as well?
