The Department of Linguistics at Thammasat University is the oldest in
Thailand and the only to offer a bachelors degree in Linguistics as well
as a
masters degree which focuses on Linguistics for Communication. Plans are now
being made to offer a PhD in Linguistics starting in 2004. The Department
also
publishes the Journal of Language and Linguistics. Currently in its fifteenth
year, the Journal is the only specialized linguistics publication of its type
in Thailand. It provides a forum for publication of original articles in any
area of language, linguistics and language teaching.
