The Language Research Center and Dunwoody Press (http://dunwoodypress.com)
are seeking Cambodian, Burmese, Lao, and Thai linguists to assist in a
machine translation project based on our existing dictionaries (i.e.,
Myanmar-English Dictionary, Myanmar Language Commission, 1996, Modern
Cambodian*English Dictionary, Robert K. Headley, Jr., Rath Chim, Ok Soeum,
1997, Lao*English Dictionary, William L. Patterson, Mario E. Severino,
1995, and a Thai lexicon under development.) The work consists of editing
the English definitions to make them as concise as possible, adding new
words and set phrases, compiling slang lexicons, and developing corpora to
test the output of the translation programs. The rate of compensation is
$25 per hour. M/F/V/D - EOE.
