Supervisory Instructional Systems Specialist (2 Positions)

1-      Mandarin Chinese

2-      Southeast Asian



The Foreign Service Institute, U.S. Department of State is recruiting two
Supervisory Instructional Systems Specialists, one Mandarin Specialist and
one Southeast Asian Specialist.



The Supervisory Instructional Systems Specialist manages and directs the
long term language training program which varies widely in numbers of
Language and Culture Instructors (LCI's) and students supervised, frequency
of course presentations and lengths of courses.  Recruits, trains and
develops LCI's to teach Asian Language and Culture.  Exercises professional
linguistic skills to develop and monitor language training program(s) to
bring students to high levels of language proficiency. Designs new courses
and/or makes extensive revisions to existing training courses.  Becomes
certified to administer and score official proficiency tests.



Applications for the Mandarin Chinese position will be accepted March 20
through May 5, 2006.  Applications for the Southeast Asian position will be
accepted March 29 - May 10, 2006.
