Chulalongkorn International Student Symposium in Southeast Asian Linguistics

Call for Papers
Call Deadline: 23-Jan-2017

Call for Papers:

Students currently enrolled in an academic program in linguistics or a related 
field are invited to submit an abstract on any area of Southeast Asian 
linguistics, including but not limited to the following:

- Phonetics and phonology
- Morphology and syntax
- Semantics, pragmatics, discourse analysis
- Comparative and Historical linguistics
- Sociolinguistics
- Language documentation and endangered languages
- Psycholinguistics and cognitive linguistics

The abstract must not exceed 800 words and must be submitted via Easychair 
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=chulaissseal2017) by Januray 23, 2017.

For each selected abstract, a full paper is required by April 30, 2017. The 
full papers should not exceed fifteen A4 pages, including examples and 
references, in single-space 12-point type (Times new roman). The accepted 
papers will be published in a proceeding after the symposium.

Meeting Description: 	On the occasion of Chulalongkorn University's and the 
Faculty of Arts' centenary, the Department of Linguistics will host 
Chulalongkorn International Student Symposium in Southeast Asian Linguistics 
in collaboration with Cornell University, University of Sydney, and Nanyang 
Technological University on June 8-9, 2017 in Bangkok, Thailand. This event 
will be organized in conjunction with Chulalongkorn Summer School of Southeast 
Asian Linguistics 2017 (ChulaSEALing2017), the first Summer School dedicated 
to Southeast Asian Linguistics. It will provide an opportunity for students 
from all over the world to present their research topics relating to Southeast 
Asian linguistics, establish links among linguistics students and meet 
distinguished linguists in the fields.
