Flowers?

I, too, have been told by Russians that, when giving flowers, one should
always give an odd number; an even number is reserved for funerals.
I have also heard that yellow flowers are inappropriate to give the
living, but recently a Russian told me that yellow flowers are not
a symbol of death, but infidelity.  Either way, it's best to give
odd numbers of non-yellow flowers.
