Seelangers:

The following message was forwarded to students in my department by our
grad assistant.  I thought SEELANGS would be an appropriate vehicle for
spreading word of this to other campuses.  (While it is a US-specific
problem, perhaps those in other countries either know people to whom they
could forward it, or have experience in US education themselves...)

If professors and instructors would forward this to their students, it
should make some impact in DC.  Maybe.
