Here at SUNY/Buffalo I'm having a fall lecture with 3 jazzy titles:
"Russian Culture After Communism: Flowers in the Wasteland," "Forward
to the Past, or why capitalism failed in Russia again," and "Ivan the
Stupid and Vasilisa the Wise on the End of the Second Millenium," some
psychological considerations on Russian national character." The second
two lectures are by a Russian professor of social psychology, affiliated
with the Russian Academy of Sciences, now residing in Buffalo (i.e.
can travel and lecture for you!) I've also adopted a first-year textbook
which is easier than the one we've been using, and so which I hope will
help with retention. Emily Tall
