I believe, both "Vych. tekhnika" and "informatika" featured together in the
names of institutes/colleges that can be labeled as "computer science"
institutes. But the two mean different things, i.e. they are not
interchangeable. "Vych. tekhnika," I think is what actually does
computations (like calculators of diff. kinds) while "informatika" is about
software and computers.
There is a dictionary on "elektronno-vychislit. tekhnika," which I don't
have with me in the U.S. but which, I am sure, can be found in Russian
bookstores like Kamkin.
