In the book by Vojnova,Matveeva,Aver'janova "Uchebnik russkogo jazyka
dlja innostrannyh studentov-filologov Osnovoj kurs", Moskva, 1981,
pages 6-8 there is a text "Algebra Jazyka" compiled "po L. Uspenskomu",
where this sentence is used.

The last line in this text tells who was its author:
"Tak ili primerno tak govoril nam krupnyj sovetskij jazykoved
Lev Vladimirovich Shcherba"
