MAC: good or evil?

Pryvit -

My suggestion is to go for the Mac.
Cyrillic capabilities are very strong; the Mac has a long history of
multi-language support, even completely native versions of the OS and
applications.

For reference, take a look at the following sites, which include
information on OS compatibility, configuration of browsers and
applications, and so on:

Russification of Macintosh:
http://www.friends-partners.org/partners/rusmac/

Ukrainianization of Macintosh (my own site, which I haven't updated in a
while, but generally still accurate):
http://www.brama.com/compute/macukr.html

The AATSEEL computer pages include good info as well:
http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~aatseel/fonts/maccyrillic.html
http://clover.slavic.pitt.edu/~aatseel/fonts/maccyrillic.html
