The Center for Russian and East European Studies at the University of
Kansas offers a six-week Summer Institute for Ukrainian Language and Area
Studies at L'viv University, Ukraine. The program offers 115 class
contact hours of Ukrainian language study, in addition to courses in
Ukrainian history, politics, economics and culture. All instruction is
provided by L'viv University faculty, with an on-site Program Director
from the KU faculty accompanying the students. Numerous excursions to
various regions in Ukraine, along with host-family accommodations for
students, enhance the overall educational experience.
There are still four slots available for the Ukrainian Summer Institute,
which includes two Summer FLAS's for eligible graduate students. For more
