GRANTS- Reminder of Deadline for Central European Research/Language Study

This is just a reminder to all list users that the application deadline for the American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS research and language training programs is fast approaching.  Applications for the following grants are due January 15, 2002:

The American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS is currently accepting applications for research and language study fellowships in Eastern, Central and Southern Europe.  The new application deadline for Summer, Fall and Academic Year fellowships is January 15; for Spring programs, October 15.  Fellowships can be used for research or language-study language in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Yugoslavia.

CENTRAL, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN EUROPE RESEARCH PROGRAM: Provides full support for three to nine month research trips to eastern, central and southern Europe. Fellowships include round-trip international travel, living stipends, visas, insurance, and affiliation fees. Typical awards: $5,000 to $15,000. Funded by the U.S. Department of State, Program for Research and Training on Eastern Europe and the Newly Independent States. Open to graduate students, post-docs, and faculty. 

CENTRAL, EASTERN AND SOUTHERN EUROPE SUMMER LANGUAGE PROGRAM: Offers international airfare, tuition, insurance, and living stipends to graduate students for up to three months of intensive language study during the summer at major universities throughout east-central Europe and the Baltic states. Funded by the U.S. State Department, Program for Research & Training on Eastern Europe and the NIS.
