[GP Gandolfo]

         Can anybody tell me whether Kvitka's play Priezzhij iz stolicy,
ili sumatokha v gorode (published in 1840) has ever been translated into
English? A student of mine is going to translate it into Italian, as part
of her dissertation, and is of course interested in finding out if it has
ever appeared before in any other language in the West. Any information or
sugggestion?
