Dear Seelangers,
I have occasion to send $1000 to Russia.        Is there any such thing as a
reliable and inexpensive way to do that? I need the name of a specific
company for the purpose.

Western Union wants $80 for the privilege.
WaMu wants $40 plus
  The name and location of the receiving bank
  A SWIFT address
  A Beneficiary's account name
  A beneficiary's account number
  The name of a corresponding bank in US
  An account number for that bank
  Furthermore, no tracking or record number of the transaction is included
so that the recipient can check on its existence.

There must be a better way.
