In France, people used to pronounce "СССР": Sé-Sé-Sé-Pé!
Are there rules for foreign abreviations pronounciation?
I suppose it is a matter of usage. But of course, those who speak the
concerned foreign language may be shocked. When I told "Es-Es-Es-Er", nobody
understood, and when I explained, I was called "pedant".
