Khrushchev's words and his shoe banging

I went searching in Google images (Khrushchev shoe) and came up with
this link and story, reputedly the info from Sergei Khrushchev, and
Sergei says they were sandals he bought in NYC...but there was a
picture a shoe, one he supposedly brought to NYC, but wasn't wearing
