I recently discovered the Russian news broadcast "Vesti" on my DirecTV
system. It turns out the subtitled broadcasts are produced by WNYE New
York <http://www.wnye.org/> and picked up by the local Philadelphia
station WYBE <http://www.wybe.org/>.
The WNYE site says their broadcasts can be viewed on Time Warner Cable
(Channel 25) and on Cablevision (Channel 22) in the New York area, and
on DirecTV Channel 888 (NJ).
If you want to see the broadcasts in your area (never mind the politics,
they're a good way to get your students accustomed to hearing real news
language), contact your local providers. They don't have to pick up the
entire WNYE feed -- just a half-hour program.
