Dear Colleagues and Students,
The Ukrainian Museum in New York City has just inaugurated its new
premises
with a marvelous exhibit of Alexander Archipenko's sculptures and
multimedia works.
Archipenko (Oleksandr Arkhypenko, in Ukrainian) is a prominent figure
in the
history of XX-th c. art.
If you have an opportunity to visit the Big Apple before September 4,
please drop by at the Ukrainian
Museum. It is located at: 222 East 6-th Street.

The following is a review that appeared today in The New York Times:

By GRACE GLUECK
[excerpt] "With a powerful inaugural show in its new building, a rare
retrospective
of the Ukrainian-born Modernist sculptor Alexander Archipenko, the
Ukrainian Museum has taken a giant step from its modest beginnings in an
East Village brownstone in 1976."
